A bit of history: 120 years is a very important milestone and Acqua Cerelia knows it well!

The story originates in the homonymous town of Cereglio, a charming town in a wonderful corner of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines and precisely at an equal distance between Bologna, Pistoia and Modena. Since the early nineteenth century, Cereglio has attracted the attention of scholars of the time, as, thanks to the excellent quality of the air, rich in ozone, the local population recorded a very low percentage of mortality.

It was precisely in 1855 that, following a cholera epidemic, the first relevant data emerged. Contrary to the neighboring countries, where very high infections were recorded, in that of Cereglio the epidemic had a very limited diffusion. This unusual situation was attributed precisely to the beneficial and healthy properties of the water that had flowed from the nearby mountains for centuries and that has always watered the entire local population. In 1902, some scholars from the University of Bologna conducted some scientific investigations on the waters of Cereglio and confirmed its beneficial properties. So it was that later, a historic local family, the Natalini brothers, installed a first extraction and bottling plant and started the first distribution.

Over the years, Acqua Cerelia has always represented the quality and tradition of the Bologna area and of all of Emilia Romagna.

This is a production of “limited edition” bottles with labels created ad hoc and the numbering of the bottles … and therefore it can be an original and environmentally conscious gift idea.
